B-flat/C/F
Tenor Bass Trombone
Through
the addition of an f-attachment with this instrument the Bb /C trombone
is transformed into a seamlessly chromatic light-weight and very responsive
bass trombone.
It closes the accustomed gaps of the f- trombone between Db and Bb by
shortening the distance between them.
Slow response, popping
and back blow are normally associated with extending the slide. The "difficult"
response is usually and falsely attributed to the existence of valves.
Through the selection of tones from the seven of the Bb - C harmonic series
and the five harmonics of the F fundamental respectively many more tones
are doubled or more than doubled.
The continuous need to change slide directions is markedly reduced through
this procedure with the respect to both degree and frequency of movement.
The burden on the elbow joint is noticeably relieved.
